True Beauty
This is a poem I nearly two years ago. When people think about beauty, they often, even Christians, mainly picture the external. I am discussing that which is the more important; the internal beauty. This poem is to help women return to working on the beauty that God desires most and to remind men that the heart is more important than the looks.
Beauty is that which begins at the heart,
And a woman of God needs that from the start.
She needs not the make-up and ways of today,
But a face with a smile that will drive tears away.
Her hands need no gold or large diamond rings,
But the desire to serve and to live as Christ did.
She needs not to dress as the fashions for friends,
For her unselfish character supplies friends without end.
No pressure to be as the world must she feel,
But deals with temptations in prayer as she kneels.
A woman of true beauty can one only be
When she sees applying God's Word is the only real key.
